Sustainability , climate change and environmental studies has been a growing topic of study in the recent times, because of the importance it has on the future of mankind. Along with this a lot of people, students may not have in-depth knowledge about the technicalities, causes and consequences of climate change. Climate change is being studied in various ways - it is important for those in public policy roles, for data analysts, engineers, public officials, entrepreneurs and for citizens of the world in general because of the universal impact that it has.

It also forms the groundwork for greater engagement in the future – which can be done either through academic study, in the public, private or not-for-profit sectors.
